DJC BUILD PROJECT:
2023
Up to $500K
The Nhulunbuy Cargo Wharf Thrust Block Project involved critical civil infrastructure work aimed at reinforcing the stability and durability of the wharf. The project works included excavation of 14 sections of concrete kerb, utilising a 5-tonne excavator equipped with a road saw attachment. This equipment allowed for accurate and efficient removal of concrete sections, preparing for the installation of new thrust blocks. The thrust blocks were essential for providing additional structural support to the wharf, ensuring that it could withstand the heavy loads and dynamic forces associated with cargo operations.
Following excavation, the DJC Build team completed the installation of the new thrust blocks. The process involved the careful placement of reinforcement steel to ensure the blocks would meet the necessary strength and durability standards. The installation was completed by fitting fender plates at the water's edge. The successful execution of the Nhulunbuy Cargo Wharf Thrust Block Project significantly enhanced the resilience and operational capability of the wharf, supporting the continued growth and efficiency of cargo handling activities in the region.
